An example of how it can bite. Profit target 10% on a 100k account. You make 4,000 on one good day and 6,000 over the rest of the period. With a 30% rule, the 4,000 day is 40% of the 10,000 total, so the payout is held until the total reaches about 13,300 and that day is 30% of it.
Points worth knowing:
- Some firms check only the best day. Others check every day.
- Some count losing days in the total, some only profitable days.
- The rule often applies to funded accounts too, not only to the evaluation.
Has anyone been held up by a consistency rule? How did the firm explain the calculation?
