This is where I'd push back a bit. Pulling the original deposit out is smart, but there's no such thing as house money once it's sitting in your account. Crank the risk up on the profit pool and a normal losing streak hands it back just as fast as you made it. I'd rather step risk up slowly after a proper sample than flip into aggressive mode because the original stake is out.

That holds for one series. The risk is in what happens next. If each blown series is followed by a fresh 5 percent series, ten failures in a row leave you at about 60 percent of the original capital, a drawdown of roughly 40 percent, built from steps that each felt small.

So I'd add a rule about restarts: a maximum number of series per quarter, or a review before a new series can be funded. Otherwise the structure that limits damage per series can still produce a large total loss over time.

The other point is the higher risk once you're trading on profits. That's where I'd be careful, because a profitable series can be given back very quickly at larger risk, and the trader then experiences the loss as "only profit" rather than as real capital. It still is.

The distinction between emotional and strategic intensity is interesting, but the difficult part is defining the rare event objectively before it happens. If the conditions for "strategic" sizing are written down in advance (specific structure, session, volatility level) and tested on past data, the approach becomes a rule rather than a feeling. Without that, increasing size on house money can easily turn into the emotional version.
