Failed orders come with messages, and the wording hints at the reason. A requote says the price changed. A rejection says the order was refused. "Off quotes" means no price was available. "Market is closed" can appear even when it isn't. "Invalid stops" points to the stops level. "Trade context busy" means the platform is overloaded.
During news, the mix of messages shifts. At first, requotes dominate, since prices are moving. Then "off quotes" appears as liquidity vanishes. Later, rejections appear as risk systems kick in.
Logging every failed order with its message and timestamp builds a picture of how the broker's system behaves under stress. A broker that returns mostly "off quotes" has a feed problem. One that returns mostly requotes has a price-validation setting.
Generic messages with no explanation deserve a ticket to support. The answer may be vague, but the reply is itself informative.
It also helps to know which messages mean "try again immediately" and which mean "wait". Retrying an invalid stops error is pointless. Retrying a busy context after a short pause usually works.
Which error messages show up most often on the account here during news?
Requote or reject: the message tells something
