Open two platforms from two different brokers side by side and the M1 candles rarely match exactly. People often take that as a sign that one is wrong. Usually, both are right in their own way.
Each broker aggregates quotes from its own liquidity providers. Slightly different sources, different filtering, and different time zones for the daily close all produce small differences. On the M1 chart, those differences can change the high or low of a candle by a pip or more.
For scalpers this has practical effects. A setup based on an exact high or low breaking may trigger on one broker and not another. Backtests run on one broker's data may not translate to another's execution.
The sensible approach is to develop and test on the broker that will actually be used for trading, and to keep price-level rules a bit tolerant.
Has a strategy ever behaved differently when switched to another broker's feed?
