Four monitors, six charts and a GPU that cannot keep up

A lagging crosshair or a click that registers a beat late is easy to blame on the broker. Sometimes the problem is a graphics chain doing too much.

Every tick forces charts to redraw. Multiply that by six charts with objects, a couple of 4K panels running at 150 percent Windows scaling, a streaming video in a browser and a charting website with hardware acceleration in another window, and an integrated GPU sharing system memory is working hard. The classic MetaTrader platforms do a lot of their drawing on the CPU rather than the GPU, so a single busy core can be the limit regardless of what the graphics card is.

Simple things to check:

- Task Manager during the busiest session: CPU per core, GPU engine usage and memory.
- Scaling and resolution on each screen. Odd scaling values can make text rendering heavier.
- The execution chart: fewer objects, fewer indicators, no heavy grids.
- Whether the browser charts and video are really needed during live hours.

Analysis screens and the execution platform do not need to live on the same machine. A cheap second PC for charts takes the load off the one that sends orders.

Does anyone run execution on a dedicated machine, separate from the analysis screens, and was the difference noticeable?
