Six monitors will not help

A bank of screens looks serious. Charts for every pair, news feeds, correlation matrices, order books. The reality for most retail scalpers is that more information does not mean better decisions.

Attention is limited. A scalper can follow one or two pairs closely. Beyond that, signals get missed or misread, and choices get made on partial views.

Overload also encourages overtrading. With six charts, there is always something moving. Something looks like a setup. The urge to act is always present.

Many consistent traders use a minimal layout: one main chart, a calendar, perhaps a second chart for context. The simplicity forces focus.

If the current setup has many screens, an experiment helps. Reduce to a single pair for a month and compare the results and the mental state at day's end.

A cheaper alternative is rotating attention by session. One pair gets the screen during London, another during the Asian hours, and the rest stay off. The market is the same, but the mind has one thing to watch at a time, and the reduction in noise is usually obvious by the end of the first week.

How many of the pairs on screen actually produce trades in a typical week?
