Fill In a Weekly Review From a Week of Data
A trader's week: nine trades with results in R: plus 1.5, minus 1, minus 1, plus 2.2, minus 1, plus 0.8, minus 1, minus 1, plus 1.6. Two trades broke the rules: the fifth and the eighth, both losers. Costs were 0.07R per trade.
Compute the numbers. Total: 1.5 minus 1 minus 1 plus 2.2 minus 1 plus 0.8 minus 1 minus 1 plus 1.6, which is plus 1.1R. Wins: four, a win rate of 44 percent. Average win: (1.5 plus 2.2 plus 0.8 plus 1.6) divided by 4, which is 1.525R. Average loss: 1.0R. Expectancy: 1.1 divided by 9, about 0.12R. Costs: 9 times 0.07 is 0.63R, so net of costs, the week was plus 0.47R if the results were gross.
Rule-following: seven of nine trades clean, 78 percent. The two violations lost 2R in total. The clean trades produced plus 3.1R, net of the violations. Without the violations, the week would have been plus 3.1R.
Now answer the review questions. Best setup: the one behind the plus 2.2R trade. Largest loss: a full 1R, within limits. Emotional pattern: both violations came after a loss. Change for next week: a ten-minute pause after any loss, before the next entry.
Write the week in four lines: result, process score, main lesson, one change.
Exercise: apply the same review to your last week and write the four-line summary.
