A trading plan doesn't have to be a fifty-page manual. A single page, read before every session, is far more useful than a thick document gathering dust.
Here's a structure that fits on one sheet.
Markets and sessions: which pairs, which hours.
Setups: the exact entry conditions, written precisely.
Exits: stop, target, time stop, rules for management.
Risk: per trade, per day, per week; maximum open positions.
Filters: spread limits, news rules, no-trade conditions.
Routine: pre-session checks and post-session review.
Stop rules: when to quit for the day or pause the strategy.
Review schedule: weekly and monthly dates.
Keep sentences short and unambiguous. If two traders reading the page would take different actions in the same situation, the plan isn't clear enough.
Version it with dates. When something changes, note why. Over time, the history shows how the approach evolved and which changes helped.
What's on the current plan, and which line has proved to be the most valuable?
