Weekly process wins, not P&L

Post by FXS London Scalper »

Trying something new in my journal: every Friday I write down three process wins from the week, regardless of P&L. I'll post them here as an accountability log.

Week of 19 October
  1. Skipped two setups during the ECB decision window, as per my news rule. Both would have lost, but that's not the point. I'd have skipped them even if they'd won.
  2. Stopped trading on Thursday after reaching my daily trade limit of six, even though I felt "in the zone".
  3. Did the morning prep every day, including Friday when I was tired.
P&L for the week: −0.4%. Honestly not great, but the process was the best it's been in a month.

What I'll work on next week
  • Moving my stop to break-even too early. Did it three times this week and was stopped before the target hit.
  • Writing the trade reason before entry, not after.
The idea is that P&L follows process with a lag. If the process wins keep piling up and P&L doesn't improve after a couple of months, then I'll question the strategy.

Anyone else track process separately from results? What do you count as a "win"?
