Trading from a phone versus a desktop: what changes in your decisions
Mobile platforms are convenient, but they change how you trade. The small screen shows fewer candles and fewer indicators, so context is limited. It is also easy to tap quickly, which increases the chance of mistakes such as wrong lot size or accidental orders. In my own experience, trades placed from a phone were more impulsive and had lower rule compliance than those from a desktop. I now use my phone only for monitoring and for adjusting stops on existing positions, not for new entries. If an alert fires while I am away from my desk, I note the level and wait until I can review the chart properly. For anyone who must trade from mobile, a few safeguards help: set a default lot size that matches your risk, use limit orders placed in advance, and double check the order ticket before confirming. Also consider whether you really need to be in the market when you cannot give it full attention. Missing a setup costs little, but a rushed one can cost a lot. Match your tools to the decisions you are making.

I went further and removed the trading app from the phone altogether, keeping only a price alert app. Every phone trade I ever made was either a rushed entry or an early exit, and neither showed up in my plan. Alerts tell me when to look; the desktop is where I decide.
