Breathing before clicking into gold spikes

Post by FXS London Scalper »

It sounds soft, but it's practical: the moment just before entering a fast-moving market is when most impulsive mistakes happen. Gold spikes trigger a strong urge to act immediately.

A simple technique used by some traders, and borrowed from other high-pressure fields:

- Before clicking, one slow breath: four seconds in, four seconds hold, six seconds out.
- During those 14 seconds, check one thing: is this trade on my plan?

Fourteen seconds is enough for the first spike candle to settle a bit, for the spread to narrow, and for the brain to move from reaction to decision.

Some traders report that this simple delay removes a large share of their worst trades: entries at the top of spikes, oversized positions, trades with no stop.

The objection is missing the move. On gold, a move that's real usually offers another entry within a few minutes. A move that reverses within 14 seconds was never a good trade.

Do you use any physical technique before entering? Or does it sound like nonsense to you?
