On US30 I watch for one-sided trade into a round number during London/NY overlap - not as mysticism, as a risk warning.
If price walks into the number with barely a pullback and spreads are widening, I stop inventing fade brilliance. Continuation or stand-aside beats hero fade for my book. If I already have risk on from a London equity-correlated FX idea, I flatten inventory before the round number theatre.
Tape read here is shorthand for pace plus spread plus inventory - I do not pretend to see a futures depth I do not have. Prop accounts skip most round-number fades entirely; the daily limit does not care that the number looked obvious.
The practical version: if US30 is within roughly 40 points of a big round number and the last five minutes printed no pullback worth the name, I take my hand off the mouse. Most of my worst index trades came from deciding the move was 'too far' with zero evidence beyond my own impatience. When it finally does turn, I want to see it reject the number twice before I even consider a small fade.

Re: US30 tape read: one-sided tape into round number
PropScalpDesk, the 40 point warning into a round number on US30 matches the zone where I stop looking for fades. If the last five minutes printed almost no pullback and spreads are already wider than the London average, my hand comes off the mouse.
I learned that the expensive way near 42000 earlier this year. The tape looked one sided for twelve minutes, I faded anyway at half size, and the next push ran another 80 points before any real pause.
Continuation or stand aside is the right default for a prop book. A fixed daily loss cap will not reward a clever fade that still runs against you for an hour.
When I do fade, I want two clear rejects of the round number with a pullback of at least 25 points between them. One wick and a hope is not enough.
I flatten FX inventory that is equity correlated before the round number theatre as well. Do you only flatten the index ticket, or the related FX risk too?
