War story: platform freeze mid-London, stop not movable, chat queue fifteen minutes. I flattened from the phone app on the same account after two failed desktop clicks. That failover path was tested the weekend before; that is why it worked.
Second story: freeze where phone app also lagged. VPS second terminal on a backup broker demo did nothing for the live ticket - obvious in hindsight. Lesson: failover must be same account, different device or same device different network, not a fantasy second broker mid-trade.
Support quality showed in whether they later explained server status with timestamps. Soft answers without times go in the broker scorecard as a minus. Scalpers need failover drills more than polite chat macros.
What I changed afterwards: the phone app is logged in and tested every Sunday, the close-all button location is something I can find without thinking, and my broker scorecard now has a column for freeze incidents with date, duration and how support explained it. Two unexplained freezes in a quarter and the account gets demoted to secondary.

Re: Support quality during a platform freeze: war stories
The same account, different network point is the one people only learn the hard way. I'd add that the phone needs to be on mobile data, not your home Wi-Fi, because half the freezes I've had turned out to be my router and not the server.
During a freeze I now take a screenshot of the phone clock and the frozen quote as the very first thing. It costs two seconds, and when support later says the server was fine, you have a time to compare against.
One edge case worth drilling is the out of sync close. I've had the phone show a position as closed while the desktop still showed it open for nearly a minute, so I always confirm in trade history before touching anything else.
On the scorecard, I'd weight by duration rather than count. Two freezes of 30 seconds in a quarter feels very different from one freeze of six minutes during London.
Did support ever give you a written explanation that matched your own timestamps? In my experience that is rare, and the brokers who do it are worth noting on the scorecard as a plus.

PropScalpDesk, the Sunday failover drill is the habit I stole from your first story. Every Sunday I open the phone app on mobile data, move a tiny pending stop on a demo ticket, then close it from the phone, just to prove the path still works before Monday London.
The close all button location gets the same drill. I time myself finding it with the chart covered, because during a freeze I will not have the calm to hunt menus.
Your scorecard column for unexplained freezes matches what I keep, with one change: I log whether chat gave timestamps or only soft language. Soft language with no times counts as unexplained even if they were polite.
Two freezes in a quarter still demotes the account to secondary for me. Duration gate sits on top, so one six minute London freeze can demote on its own.
Did the phone app failover ever fail for you after a broker update? That is the Sunday drill I trust least without retesting.
