Calendar hygiene for prop candidates: weekly audit

Calendar hygiene for prop candidates

Prop rules plus a messy economic calendar is how soft breaches happen. On personal capital I can choose to sit a CPI spike; on a firm account the same spike might violate a news window I forgot existed.

Weekly audit I run on Sundays:
  • Mark Tier-1 for the pairs I am allowed to trade
  • Align firm news policy with my blackout timers (clocks in one timezone)
  • Pre-decide: flat / micro only / normal — written, not vibes
  • Remove “maybe I will scalp the reversion” unless the firm explicitly allows it and my journal supports it
The goal is boredom: no surprise red folder events mid-week. Candidates often fail less from edge and more from calendar sloppiness.

How do you keep firm policy and your personal news map in sync? Spreadsheet, calendar colour codes, or platform plugin? I also screenshot the firm’s news clause next to my own blackout list so there is one source of truth for the week. Ambiguity is how soft breaches sneak in.
