I skip the London sweep-reversal when: Asia range is already extreme, the "sweep" is a full break-and-hold rather than a stop run, spreads are elevated into a print, or I have already taken two London ideas. Also skip if DXY or equity tape is clearly driving and EURUSD is just following with no local structure worth naming.
The skip is the trade. Journaling skips has saved me more than journaling winners, because winners flatter you and skips tell you whether you still have a filter. If I catch myself searching for a sweep that is not there, that is the cue to stand up and leave the chair for five minutes.
I would rather open the overlap flat than force a London costume onto a morning that did not offer the pattern.
