Silent news days that still trend -- how I notice without inventing a story.
Some days the calendar is green and the tape still trends hard: positioning, cross-asset lead, or a narrative that started overnight. My mistake used to be waiting for a headline that never comes, then chasing mid-move.
Tells I watch
1. Asia already broke a multi-day box before London.
2. DXY / yields / index futures leading my FX pair.
3. Spreads normal but pace unusually persistent in one direction.
4. Failed mean-reversion attempts early -- range tools keep losing.
Response: trade with the day type (continuation playbook, fewer fades), not against it because "no news means fade." Absence of red flags is not a mean-reversion signal.
How do you classify a no-news trend day early enough to matter?
I tag these days silent_trend so I can see whether continuation rules earn their keep. Without the tag, they disappear into "random winners." Classification beats mystique: no headline does not mean no direction.
