London close reversals on EURGBP -- fading the last hour, carefully.
I do not fade every close. But EURGBP sometimes shows a tired last-hour push that retraces into the London balance. The mistake is treating it like a high-probability ATM.
Filters before I even look
1. Spread still acceptable -- crosses lie late.
2. Clear session extreme that looks extended vs the day's box.
3. No major late headline hanging.
4. Half size; time stop short -- if it does not mean-revert promptly, I am wrong.
This is optional income, not core. Most Fridays I skip it entirely. When I take it, the journal tag is lch_fade so I can see if the idea earns its costs over a month.
Anyone else fade London close on crosses, or do you flatten and walk away by then?
EURGBP late liquidity can vanish without warning. My abort rule is the same as elsewhere: spread spike or dead tape ends the idea immediately. A fade that needs perfect fills in a thin cross is not a fade -- it is a donation with European branding.
