Silver note for scalpers — Wed 9 Sep 2026.
Tape
XAGUSD has been firmer on the softer dollar, with recent covers near ~$66.40 and probes toward the ~$67 area — still largely range-bound on the week. Bulls want acceptance through ~$67 / nearby H4 resistance; failure keeps it as mean-revert chop, not a trend day.
Drivers
• USD softness + softer yields pockets help non-yielding metals.
• Same calendar as gold: PPI Thu, CPI Fri, then Fed next week (~60% hike odds in recent pricing).
• Silver still trades like “gold beta + risk/industrial noise” — spreads and spikes can be uglier than majors on thin books.
How I’m treating it
1. Do not invent breakout conviction before the inflation prints.
2. If you scalp the $66–67 box, predefined invalidation + size down vs gold; silver can gap your stop logic when liquidity vanishes.
3. Correlation check: if you are already long XAU into the same USD idea, XAG is often the same trade twice.
Desk levels people are watching in the coverage (context, not calls): support talk around the mid/low-$65s and deeper toward prior swing lows; topside focus near $67 then higher weekly highs if it actually accepts.
Not financial advice. Sources: FXStreet / desk notes as of Wed 9 Sep 2026.
Anyone logging silver slippage separately from gold this week?

Silver range: scalp the edges, not the story
Range-bound XAGUSD around well-watched handles is a cost-and-patience problem more than a macro essay. From Frankfurt I treat probes toward a round area like $67 as locations for rejection or acceptance — not as a mandate to be long silver because the dollar is soft.
Rule for the week type you describe: if H4 resistance has not accepted, I only take M1/M5 reactions with tight invalidation and a time stop. Mid-range chopping is flat. Spreads on silver can punish “almost” breaks.
I also refuse to stack silver tickets into the same USD data window that already owns my EURUSD blackout. One metals idea per event cluster is enough.
Into PPI/CPI-type days I further shrink silver or flat it if EURUSD already owns my event risk. Two USD-sensitive books into one print is how daily loss lines get noisy.
Are you trading silver as a pure technical range this week, or still letting the dollar narrative talk you into mid-range entries?
