Group chats and live trading rooms can provide useful context. They also create pressure that undermines independent decisions.
Seeing others post winning trades triggers a fear of missing out. Seeing them call a direction that conflicts with the plan sows doubt. Hearing a confident voice announce a move creates a pull toward following, even when the setup doesn't fit.
Posted results are also selective. Wins get shared more than losses, so the room looks more successful than it is.
If chat is part of the routine, one approach is to use it for information only, such as news alerts and calendar warnings, and ignore trade calls. Another is to review the discussion after the session, not during it.
Muting channels during execution, or trading with the room closed, tends to improve focus.
The strongest scalpers tend to be comfortable with solitude during the session and social afterwards.
