Scalping is solitary work. Long hours alone at a screen, with results that are hard to explain to outsiders, can lead to isolation. Without feedback, errors in thinking go unchallenged.
A peer group of serious traders provides perspective. Sharing methods, discussing problems, and reviewing trades with others reveals blind spots. A good group values honesty about losses and discourages hype.
The selection matters. Groups dominated by boasting or by sellers add noise. Look for those that focus on process, data, and risk.
Structured interaction works better than constant chat. A weekly call to review results, or a shared journal with a trusted partner, provides accountability without distraction during sessions.
Also maintain a life outside trading. Relationships, physical activity, and other interests balance the intensity of the work and improve long-term performance.
Isolation is a risk to be managed, like any other.
What form of peer feedback has proved useful, and what has been a distraction?
