Withdrawal speed as a broker health signal

Post by FXS London Scalper »

Withdrawal speed is one of the most practical signals of how a broker is doing. It's also easy to track.

What to record for each withdrawal:
  • Request date and time.
  • Date and time the broker marked it processed.
  • Date money arrived in the bank or wallet.
  • Fees, if any, and the exchange rate used.
What to watch for:
  • Processing time getting longer without explanation.
  • New requests for documents that were already provided.
  • Pressure to keep the money in the account, for example bonus offers when withdrawing.
A small withdrawal every couple of months keeps the record current. If timing changes, it's an early signal worth taking seriously, even before trading conditions change.

Note that processing times often differ by method: card refunds, bank transfers and e-wallets each have their own timing.

Keeping these records in one simple spreadsheet, alongside the dates of any changes to the broker's terms, makes it easy to spot a pattern rather than relying on a vague feeling that things got slower.
