Instant execution feels safer because the price on the ticket is the price requested. The trade-off is that the broker can requote or reject when the market moves, so the safety is partly an illusion.
Market execution does the opposite. The order gets filled at whatever price is available, and the only surprise is the difference from the quote. For scalping, that tends to be the better deal, since a clean fill at a slightly different price beats a rejected order and a missed move.
The thing to watch is that stop loss and take profit get attached after the fill on many market execution setups. That brief gap between entry and protection is small, but it exists, and during a connection drop it becomes a real exposure.
A decent habit is to test both modes on a small size for a week, logging fill quality and rejection counts. Results often differ by pair and by time of day, so one blanket rule rarely survives contact with the data.
Which execution mode ended up working better for the fastest setups, and did it change by session?
