Swap rates change midweek, and nobody emails about it
The swap table is not fixed. Brokers update rates when interbank rates change, and sometimes more often.
A table read on Monday may be out of date by Thursday. Changes tend to cluster around central bank decisions, when interest rate expectations shift.
For scalpers, the impact is small unless a position is held over rollover. For those who sometimes carry trades, an unexpected change in the swap can turn a profitable carry into a loss.
Some platforms show the current swap in the symbol specification, updated live. Others require checking the broker's website.
Setting a monthly reminder to review the table for pairs traded is a modest habit that avoids bad surprises.
The broker's terms usually reserve the right to change swaps without notice, so complaints rarely go anywhere. Taking a screenshot of the swap values at the time of opening any position that might survive rollover creates a reference. It also builds a record of how often the numbers actually change on the pairs in use.
How often does the swap rate change on the pairs traded, and is it tracked anywhere?
