The post-session review: ten minutes that pay for the rest

Post by Shadow Trader »

Closing the platform and walking away feels natural after a long session. A brief review turns experience into improvement.

What to cover:

- Total result in R and in money, plus the number of trades.

- Rule adherence: which trades followed the plan, which didn't.

- The best and worst trade, and why each happened.

- Emotional state at key moments.

- One thing to do differently tomorrow.

Keep it short and consistent. A long review becomes a chore, and chores get skipped. Five or ten minutes is enough, as long as it happens every day.

Screenshots help. Capturing the chart at entry and exit gives context that memory will blur by tomorrow.

Once a week, a longer review looks at patterns across the five days. Once a month, a deeper dive checks the statistics. The cadence matters more than the format.

What would the review look like if it only had to fit in one paragraph?
