Many prop firms offer scaling: if you're profitable over some months, the account grows. I read the terms of three firms carefully.
Typical conditions:
- A minimum profit over a period, often 10% over four months.
- A minimum number of payouts in that period.
- No breach of any rule.
For a scalper making 2 to 3% a month, 10% over four months is realistic. But one firm also required the profit to be "consistent", with no single month over 50% of the total. A good month followed by flat ones would disqualify.
Worth reading the exact wording before planning around a scaling plan.
