Building a daily bias in ten minutes without overthinking

Post by Shadow Trader »

A common mistake is spending an hour on analysis and still having no clear plan. I use a short routine. First, check the daily chart: is price making higher highs and lows, lower highs and lows, or ranging? Second, note where price is relative to the previous day's range and the weekly range. Third, identify the nearest untouched liquidity above and below. Fourth, decide which of those is the more probable target given the direction of the larger structure. Finally, write one sentence: for example, bullish while above yesterday's low, targeting the previous week's high. If any step gives an unclear answer, the bias is neutral and I look only for confirmation setups at the range extremes. The point of the routine is consistency. By limiting time, I avoid constantly changing my mind and I make my preparation repeatable. It also gives me a record: each day's written bias can be compared to what actually happened, which reveals whether my analysis has value or is just storytelling that feels convincing.

Ten minutes is about right. The step that adds the most for me is identifying the nearest untouched liquidity above and below, because it gives clear targets and helps judge whether a trade has room to run. One addition I find useful: noting where the Asian session high and low are relative to those levels, since London often moves toward one of them first.
