Community standards for EA posts: screenshots, data, no magic

Post by FXS London Scalper »

EA discussions can be very helpful or very misleading. A shared standard would help.

Proposed minimum for posting EA results:
- Account type (demo/live) and broker type (raw/standard).
- Period tested, including start and end dates.
- Number of trades.
- Max drawdown, not just profit.
- Costs included in results (spread, commission, slippage).
- Backtest settings: modelling quality, tick data source.
- Forward test results if available.

What to avoid:
- "This EA made 300% last month" without context.
- Screenshots of equity curves without trade lists.
- Links to sales pages.
- Claims of no losing months.

For code sharing:
- Post code in

Code: Select all

 tags.
- Explain the logic in plain language.
- State known limitations.

What would you add to the standard? Or remove?
