Prop-safe adjustments when your edge is EURUSD M1

Post by PropScalpDesk »

EURUSD M1 on prop needs smaller ego than EURUSD M1 on a raw personal account.

Adjustments I use:

- Base size set so two full stops cannot end the day alone if I still have a brain; three stops hit the daily limit with room for spread/slippage fudge.
- First hour of London only for continuation; after 09:30 I need A+ or I stand aside. Challenges punish afternoon boredom trades.
- Spread filter same as personal, but I do not override it "because phase ends Friday".

I do not change the pattern definition. I change how often I am allowed to ask the market the same question. That is usually enough to keep the edge recognisable without turning the account into a lottery on noise.

I review EURUSD M1 tickets weekly with a prop lens: would this sequence have survived the daily limit on a red Tuesday? If not, frequency comes down again before the next phase. Personal-capital EURUSD can stay more active in parallel only if the accounts are not both clickable in the same focus window.

Sizing so two stops cannot end the day is the adjustment I wish I had made on my first challenge.

On a 0.5% daily limit I now risk about 0.18% per EURUSD M1 ticket, which leaves room for a third scratch plus spread. On personal I still use closer to 0.35% because there is no hard daily cut.

Your first hour only rule for continuation is close to mine. I stretch to 09:45 if the London impulse was late, but never into the 10:00 to 11:00 window on a challenge. That is where my boredom tickets used to live.

I do change one pattern detail for prop: no second attempt on the same level inside fifteen minutes. On personal I sometimes re-enter. On prop that re-entry was the trade that breached two of my early accounts.

Weekly review with the "would this survive a red Tuesday" question is solid. I print the losing days and cover the P and L column first, then ask if the sequence itself was allowed.

Do you keep personal and prop platforms on different machines, or just different windows?

One prop safe tweak I'd add to your list is a hard ticket cap. On EURUSD M1 challenges I allow five tickets before 09:30, and if I'm down more than 0.25% by then the platform closes for the day even with daily limit left.

That number came from reviewing my breach days. Most of them had seven to nine tickets by mid morning, not three carefully chosen ones.

It fits your point about asking the market the same question less often. A percentage limit only tells you after the damage, while the count stops the fourth and fifth attempt before they happen.

Personal capital still allows more attempts, so the cap is written on the prop sheet only. I keep it on a note next to the screen so boredom cannot negotiate it on a slow morning.

PropScalpDesk, do you use a ticket count cap, or only the daily loss maths? If you do cap it, I'm curious whether the number changes between phase one and the funded stage.
