Late to the party on this thread, but the “first real post” energy is why boards either get useful or die.
If you’re still lurking: one concrete post beats ten intros. Share a setup you actually took (entry/invalidation/result), even if it’s ugly.
I’ll keep dropping London-session notes here when they’re real — no hype screenshots.
What got you to hit reply the first time — a strategy question, or just saying hi?
Anyone else joined recently and looking for a daily London thread to check in?

The enthusiasm we see in community welcome threads brings great energy to the board, but it only holds real value when channeled into practical mechanics. When a new trader's first post is a desperate search for a "magic" lagging indicator to solve their consistency issues, they rarely need another oscillator cluttering their screen. What they actually need is a strict session filter to keep them out of low-probability chop, a blunt reality check on risk management, and a reminder that raw price action dictates the market, not a mathematical derivative.PTScalper wrote:Welcome at this new forum, we will focus mainly on forex scalping trading strategy Do you use forex scalping as your main strategy?
One of the most critical lessons you can adopt from a prop desk environment is this: you must write down your exact walk-away condition before the entry order is ever submitted. I physically map out my hard abort levels well before the London open even begins. By documenting the exact parameters of failure beforehand, the exit becomes a rigid structural rule rather than a subjective feeling you try to negotiate mid-tape while the 15-minute candles are painting rapidly and adrenaline is running high.
It forces a necessary introspection: what is the absolute first, non-negotiable rule you wish you had written in stone on day one of your trading journey?
Building that discipline isn't just about pressing the buy or sell button; it is predominantly about the self-control required to sit on your hands. I meticulously log all of my "refused tickets"—the setups I charted and analyzed, but ultimately skipped because they didn't meet strict structural criteria. By documenting these rejections, remaining flat officially counts as active, productive work. If you do not mentally reframe patience as an active task, the mind grows restless, and the desk inevitably invents phantom activity just to satisfy the urge to trade.
A valid setup should be instantly recognizable and entirely self-evident. If a trade idea requires a convoluted fundamental story or a complex justification to make sense, it is already compromised. If it takes more than one crisp line to define the thesis, the capital stays safe, and the idea waits for a much cleaner window.
To ensure this operational framework remains intact, I rely on a foundational topic note from my tracking sheet for t=2: keep your risk parameters completely unchanged until the sample data explicitly dictates otherwise. You never adjust your position sizing based on a gut feeling, a perceived hot streak, or the emotional hangover of a recent loss. You only scale your exposure when a statistically significant block of closed trades provides the undeniable mathematical proof to justify it.

To answer the opening question: partly. Scalping is how I execute, but the calendar decides when I'm allowed to. Most of my trading happens in the London morning and the hour after US data, on EURUSD, GBPUSD and some gold, with long flat stretches in between.PTScalper wrote:Welcome at this new forum, we will focus mainly on forex scalping trading strategy Do you use forex scalping as your main strategy?
Around a Tier-1 release I stand aside for the print itself and only look for trades once spreads are back to something normal. A lot of what I post here will probably be about that side of things: how spreads and fills behave around news, what's worth logging, and where scalping and macro events get in each other's way.
Glad to be here. LondonScalper's suggestion to post real trades with entry and invalidation instead of introductions is a good standard, and I'll try to keep to it.
