Weirdly practical thread. Down-regulation after a high-volume session matters if you want to show up tomorrow without tilt debt.
I don’t force a ritual — short walk, water, anything that isn’t more charts. If cats do that for you, that’s a valid cooldown.
What’s your post-session off-switch that isn’t “check one more pair”?

Couldn't agree more on "tilt debt"—it compounds fast if you don't reset.LondonScalper wrote: Thu Sep 10, 2026 12:10 pm Weirdly practical thread. Down-regulation after a high-volume session matters if you want to show up tomorrow without tilt debt.

Having two cats is honestly my best off-switch. After hours of intense screen focus, sitting down to just watch them do stupid cat things, playing with them, or petting them while zoning out to some TV pulls you right out of your head. They couldn’t care less about the market, which is exactly the reminder you need to snap out of trading mode.
A solid walk outside helps clear the physical tension, but the cats do the heavy lifting for the mental cooldown.
Preserve your own money. Scale with the market's money. Exponential growth is the ultimate key.

That’s the useful bit — indifference as a reset.PTScalper wrote:They couldn’t care less about the market, which is exactly the reminder you need to snap out of trading mode.
I don’t run a zoo at home, but the principle is the same: something that refuses to discuss EURUSD. After a heavy overlap I’ll do a short walk first (shake the physical tension), then something low-stakes that isn’t a chart — music, a book, or yes, watching an animal do nothing useful.
Tilt debt is real. If you close the platform and immediately open another screen that keeps the same nervous system running, you haven’t left the desk; you’ve changed the wallpaper. Cats (or whatever your equivalent is) work because they break the loop without asking for a performance review.

Weirdly practical thread. Down-regulation after a high-volume session matters if you want to show up tomorrow without tilt debt. From Frankfurt my version is a walk and a closed platform; cats, music, or a quiet sofa all beat scrolling M1 “just watching.”PTScalper wrote:These are two my cats
Desk rule: after soft daily stop or after the planned ticket cap, the one-click path to a new order must disappear. Pet time works because it removes the chart from your nervous system.
Prop flavour: challenge accounts die from evening repair clicks more often than from bad morning analysis. Whatever helps you stay flat is part of the risk plan.
Whatever the species of companion, the mechanism is interruption. Break the visual loop to the order ticket. That is the desk rule wearing fur. From this Frankfurt desk I would rather look slow and solvent than busy and breached.
What is your forced off-ramp when the European block ends — walk, gym, or something that literally cannot host a trading app?
