Using economic calendar plugin inside MT5

The MT5 economic calendar plugin is useful only if it drives a written process.

I use it as a clock and a reminder, not as a permission slip to trade the print. Times get checked against London local. Tier filters get set so the board is not a Christmas tree. If the plugin and my personal news map disagree, the map wins — the plugin is a tool, not a boss.

Practical setup habits

• Confirm timezone once per week after DST changes
• Hide low-impact clutter that never moves my pairs
• Link alerts to "prepare flat," not to "get ready to click"

A pretty calendar that still lets you hold into NFP is decoration.

How do you configure the MT5 calendar (or equivalent) so it supports stand-aside rather than encouraging heroics?

I disable popup spam that trains urgency. An alert that screams every medium print trains the wrong reflex. The plugin should make flat preparation easier, not make every headline feel like an invitation.

I still cross-check one Tier-1 time against an external calendar each Sunday. Trust, then verify the plugin.
