HTF fair value gap as a filter, not an entry: M15 FVG + M1 trigger

I still see FVG used as a magnet people fade into blindly. That has not been my edge on the majors.

I mark M15 (sometimes H1) fair value gaps as location filters only. Entry is an M1/M5 trigger I already trust: sweep-reclaim, ORB retest, or impulse pullback that happens to occur into that HTF imbalance. No HTF FVG means I need a stronger local story; naked M1 FVG fills alone are mostly noise for me after costs.

Rule: if price is mid-nowhere on M15, I do not invent a scalp just because M1 left a gap during the London drive. Gaps are common in the first hour; treating all of them as destinations is how you overtrade.

I also refuse HTF FVG filters that require zoom archaeology. If I cannot see the imbalance at a normal zoom, it is not part of the plan.

HTF FVG filters location; M1 still triggers

Frankfurt rule: no HTF FVG means I need a stronger local story or I pass. HTF FVG alone never means market order into the midpoint. Costs and session still gate size.

This stopped a lot of mid-air hero fades that looked smart on a screenshot and dumb on the sheet.

I keep HTF FVG marks muted on the chart so they do not visually bully me into action. Filters should be quiet; triggers should be loud.

When the M1 trigger fires outside the HTF FVG, I do not drag the story sideways to justify the fill. Location filter means location.

When M1 trigger and M15 FVG disagree, which one wins on your desk — or do you simply stand aside?
