Late NY is where my process score goes to die if I let it. The tape is choppier, spreads can misbehave, and “just watching” becomes three clicks you will dislike in the morning review. Addiction loves ambiguity; clocks hate it.
Shut-down rules that work for me:
- Hard clock: after a set London time, new risk is blocked unless a pre-planned event trade exists on paper.
- One-click flatten hotkey tested in calm hours; no hunting exits by hope when tired.
- If I break the clock once, next day ends earlier — consequence, not a lecture to myself.

When travel or insomnia wrecks the clock, I default to an earlier shut-off, not a later one. Tired brains bargain for overtime; the written clock should bargain for sleep.
