Pre-Friday afternoon checklist -- protecting the week is a position.
Friday after lunch is where I used to get clever. Liquidity thins, spreads misbehave on crosses, and I get protective of the week's P&L in the wrong way -- by taking one more ticket.
Card
1. Flat-by clock written (mine is early afternoon for new risk).
2. What is still allowed: manage open risk only, or flat already?
3. Calendar leftovers -- US data can still bite.
4. Metals vs majors: which books are already too wide?
5. Week status: green weeks get smaller size; red weeks do not get "recovery" size.
The checklist is deliberately boring. If Friday feels exciting, I am probably late.
Where do you draw the Friday line for new scalps -- clock, spread, or both?
I send myself a calendar reminder at the flat-by time so the decision is external. When the reminder fires, new risk is over -- no bargaining with a "perfect" late setup. Perfect late setups are how Friday afternoons become Monday regrets.
