Music as a cooldown tool > music as an entry trigger.

I keep execution quiet; after the session I’ll use something low-stimulation to mark “desk closed.” If a playlist helps you not reopen the terminal, it’s doing a risk job.

Any tracks that reliably end the day without winding you back up?

Can you share with us what do you listen?
I mean for everybody low-stimulation means something else.

For me post-session is deliberately boring: mostly instrumental — late Miles, some ECM jazz, occasional ambient that doesn’t demand lyrics. Lyrics keep the verbal brain online; after M1 work I want that quiet.

During the session I run near-silence or very low volume. Scalping with a hype playlist was an early mistake — it made aggression feel like “energy.”

Low-stimulation is personal. The test I use: if the track makes me want to click something, it’s the wrong track for cooldown. Walk + quiet music beats another YouTube deep-dive into the trade I just closed.

That selection of music is spot on. Late Miles and the spatial, dynamic recordings from ECM are exactly what you need to shut the analytical brain down. Pushing uncompressed instrumental tracks through a solid Class-A amp like an Accuphase into a custom speaker setup is the ultimate grounding mechanism. It just washes the M1 noise right out of the room.

Your point about hype playlists is a hard lesson most scalpers learn way too late. Real-time execution requires absolute detachment. High-BPM playlists just manufacture artificial urgency, making aggression feel like "energy," which is a guaranteed way to start seeing setups that aren't actually in the order book.

The physical circuit breaker is mandatory, too. Pairing that low-stimulation audio with a long 10-kilometer walk physically severs the tension from the desk. It burns the lingering adrenaline out of your nervous system and beats the hell out of firing up YouTube for a post-mortem on a ticket you just closed.

Do you have any specific ECM pressings or ambient artists that instantly flip that cooldown switch for you? Always looking to add to the rotation.
