Stepping away from the charts to clear the head 🌲📊
After staring at Forex charts and candles all day, nothing beats closing the terminal and stepping out into nature. Fresh air is the ultimate mental reset.
Took a walk under this stunning canopy and open sky—the way the golden sunset light filters through the pine needles and stretches across the clouds is just unmatched.
Mind cleared: Zero charts, zero stress.
Battery recharged: Ready for the next market session.
How do you guys disconnect after a heavy trading day?

Nature here in Karlovy Vary (CarlsBad) is full of wonders.

Same conclusion, less poetry: nature is still the cheapest way I know to stop rehearing the last ticket.

London mornings can leave you wired even when P&L is fine. A walk under proper trees — phone in pocket, platform closed — does more for the next session than another “review” doomscroll. The photos look like an actual off-switch, which is the point.

One rule that stuck on our side of the desk: flatten first, then leave. Half-relaxing while a runner is still open is just trading outdoors.

I disconnect with a loop along the canal or a short common walk; no headphones if the session was noisy. Music comes later, after the nervous system has dropped a gear.

Do you treat that walk as a hard end-of-day boundary, or do you sometimes still come back for a late NY look?

Hi LondonScalper,

Yeah Nature is for free, but from my point of view it is still best way :-)

You can walk, run, ride a bike there.

During trading series i walk like three times a day, at morning to buy something for breakfast, around lunch to go for coffee and at night it is in my time zone end NY session.

I headed out for a long walk today to clear my head, swapping the volatility of the charts for the absolute quiet of the woods.
Following the empty paved road through the tall pines and wandering past the open green fields is the best way to detox from a week of analyzing price action. The weather was incredible today—bright blue skies, dappled sunlight through the canopy, and completely still. Sometimes, the best thing you can do for your trading psychology is to completely disconnect and just enjoy the silence.
How is everyone else spending their weekend away from the screens?

Three forced exits is better than one heroic “I’ll rest when the week is green.”

I do a shorter version: out of the chair after the London first hour if I’m not in a planned ticket, and a proper walk when NY cash is done — not a stroll to the kitchen with the phone still quoting gold. Nature being free is beside the point; the point is the nervous system actually leaving the blotter.

If the lunch walk is just another screen on a smaller glass, you didn’t take a break — you changed the wallpaper. Your three-slot version is a fence. I’d keep it even on A+ days. Especially on A+ days.
