Where do you see benefits of AI in forex trading?

Post by FTtrader »

Hi scalpers,

im little bit in mood of thinking about Ai and possible benefits for our trading, trading strategies and how to use it for our benefits.
Im not as good IT expert as other, so i would like to open this topic and openly think about it.

I tried that for example in my case, that i wanted to help with coding some indicator or i wanted to get tips, how to make my trading better.
I found out, that some answers was usefull and other not so much, so its like 50:50.

In my point of view it can be usefull for fine tuning or get inspiration, but prompts like create me automatic profitable EA robot with low risk will not definetely work :D

What are your ideas? What are yours experiences?

Hi FTtrader,

i personaly use it in several different ways.
First of all i use local models like gemma4 to discuss strategy ideas in nutshell and as source of different point of views.

I found out, that for market predictions it does not work for me.

Plus time to time it gives me good points, to which should i be more carefull like upcoming News etc.

Hello,

Well now, I’ve been watching these markets since the days when the numbers were jumping on screens and people were shouting on the floor. I’ve spent over thirty-five years trading, and I’ve seen plenty of "miracle" technologies and "magic" buttons come and go. To be honest with you, this "Artificial Intelligence" stuff you’re talking about? It sounds like something out of a science fiction movie to me.

I’m an old-school trader. I trust what I can see on the tape and the patterns I’ve spent decades memorizing. This AI thing is a bit of a mystery to me—it feels like a black box where I can't see the gears turning. I can see why you're interested in it for coding and "fine-tuning," but I'm a bit wary of letting a machine do the thinking for me. I've learned the hard way that the market has a way of punishing people who trust a machine more than their own eyes.

Since I'm a bit behind the curve on the tech side, could someone explain it to me like I'm a layman? What exactly is this "AI" doing under the hood when it helps with a script? And for those of us who have lived by the old rules for decades, why would we even bother trying to incorporate it into our workflow? Is there a real, practical reason for an old dog to learn new tricks in this specific area?

Hi Hans,

interesting how all trading industry changed in time. It was called Open Cry i think :D

Yeah, its another milestone new advanced technology, the reality is that it will not find you best possible trading setups etc.
Its just another tool, which can be usefull for you for example for checking what type of important news will come or it will give you another point of view on some trading setup or strategy.

I think yes, there is allways room to improve your own trading style. But on another hand if your system works, why to change it or improve it?
Thats good dilemma :D Improve or not improve .. use AI or not use it :D
