Zero stop level on majors: how to verify the claim yourself

Many brokers advertise "no minimum stop distance". It's easy to check whether that holds on your own account, and the specification window doesn't tell the whole story.

How to test:
  • Open the symbol specification for EURUSD, GBPUSD and USDJPY and note Stops level and Freeze level.
  • With a micro position, try to place a stop 1 pip, then 0.5 pips, from price. Note any rejection and its retcode.
  • Repeat at the London open and just before a US release, since some brokers raise levels temporarily.
What a typical pattern looks like: majors often really are 0 on raw accounts, while crosses and metals frequently aren't. Standard accounts at the same broker can differ from raw ones.

A worked example of why it matters: a scalper trailing a stop 2 pips behind price needs a stop level of 0 or close to it. With a 3 pip level, the trailing logic silently fails in exactly the fast moves it was built for, and the EA may not even log it unless you check the return code.

Has anyone found a broker whose live values differed from the specification?
