Scheduling breaks like trades

Breaks are usually taken when exhaustion forces them, which is too late. Planned breaks work better, because they prevent the decline instead of reacting to it.

A simple structure is fifty minutes of trading followed by ten away from the screen. During the break, stand up, walk, drink water, and avoid checking charts or social feeds.

Another structure ties breaks to events: after a certain number of trades, after any loss above a set size, or after a news release.

Some resist breaks for fear of missing a move. In practice, missed moves are plentiful and nothing special. A fresh mind catches the next setup better than a tired one catches this one.

The break schedule can be added to the platform as an alert, or placed on a calendar. Treating it like an appointment makes it harder to skip.

Over a few weeks, comparing results in the first half and second half of sessions shows the effect.

What break structure has worked, and what happens when it is skipped?
