Broker maintenance windows and invisible downtime

Platforms go offline for updates, usually on weekends, but sometimes on weekday nights. Servers restart, data centers switch over, feeds reconnect. These are announced in an email that few people read.
For scalpers with open positions, a maintenance window during the rollover period is trouble. Quotes freeze, the connection drops, and positions can't be touched. If price gaps during that time, the first quote on reconnection can be far from the last one seen.
Some maintenance is invisible until something goes wrong. A server migration might change the ping from 5 ms to 40 ms overnight, and nothing in the platform flags it. The first sign is slightly worse fills and a creeping suspicion.
Checking the broker's status page or social channels is a decent habit. A quick ping test at the start of each session also helps. If the number jumped, something changed.
A few brokers give advance notice of server moves, including new IP addresses. Subscribing to those notices is boring and useful.
How much notice does the broker used here give about maintenance, and has it ever hit an open trade?
