The mobile app closes the wrong trade

Mobile platforms are built for convenience, and convenience causes errors. The list of open positions is small, the buttons are close together, and a position can change between the tap and the confirmation.

One common mistake: a tap intended to close one position hits another because the list reordered when a new trade opened. The sequence looks like this. The screen shows three positions. A pending order triggers. A new row appears at the top. The finger lands on the old position of the row, which is now a different trade.

Another is one-click trading left on. A stray touch sends an order immediately, with no confirmation. In a fast market, there's no time to fix it.

Mobile quotes also lag more than desktop. Prices on a cell connection might be a second old, so a market order placed on a phone fills at a price that has already moved.

Some habits help: turning off one-click trading on mobile, checking the ticket number before closing, and using the phone only for monitoring and emergency exits.

Notifications deserve a mention as well. A phone that buzzes with a push alert in the middle of a trade pulls attention to a screen that was not the plan. Muting everything except the platform during trading hours reduces accidental taps, since the screen stays on one thing.

If the phone must be used to manage trades, switching to landscape mode makes buttons larger and a bit less error-prone. Some apps also offer a confirmation dialog for closing trades, and turning that on adds a second of friction that is almost always worth having.

What's the worst mobile mistake that's happened here, and what changed afterward?
