Freeze levels: when modifying an order suddenly stops working

The freeze level is a less famous cousin of the stop level. It defines a zone around the market price in which pending orders cannot be modified or deleted.

The practical result is that a limit order sitting close to the current price becomes frozen. Any attempt to adjust or cancel gets rejected, and the order may fill anyway.

That matters when price runs toward a pending order and the trader wants to pull it because conditions changed. The button simply does not work, which can feel like the platform has crashed.

Look up the freeze level in the symbol specifications. A value of 0 means no restriction. A value of 3 means orders within 3 points of the price are locked.

Practical habits that come out of it:

- Cancel or move pending orders earlier, not when price is already close.
- Treat any order near market as committed.
- Test the behavior on a demo with similar specs before relying on it live.

A frozen order that fills against a news spike is a very expensive lesson.

Has anyone been caught by a frozen order, and how did it play out?
