A weekly review limited to the three costliest mistakes

Reviewing every trade each week is exhausting, and most traders stop doing it. A narrower format is easier to keep up and often works better.

At the end of each week, sort the trades by loss and look at the five worst. For each, ask a simple question: was it a rule violation, a bad execution or a normal loss? Normal losses need no fix. The others do.

From the list, choose the three mistakes that cost the most in total. Give each a specific countermeasure for the coming week, such as a checklist item, a locked setting or a cooling-off rule.

Write them on a card near the screen. Next week, check whether those same mistakes reappeared.

The narrow focus matters. Trying to fix ten things at once usually fixes none. Working on three, week after week, produces steady improvement.

Over a few months, the list of recurring errors shrinks and the equity curve usually smooths.
