Daily loss limits that stop the spiral before it starts

A scalper can take dozens of trades in a session, and losses compound quickly when decisions deteriorate. A hard daily limit interrupts the spiral.
The limit can be a fixed amount, a percentage of the account, or a number of consecutive losses. The important part is that it's set in advance and enforced without negotiation.
Without a limit, the usual pattern is a loss that triggers frustration, then bigger size or looser criteria, then more losses. The final result bears little relation to the strategy's real performance.
Enforcement is the hard bit. Some platforms or brokers allow setting a maximum daily loss on the account. Others need a script that closes positions and disables trading once the threshold is hit.
Honest review also helps. After a limit hit, record what happened, whether the losses came from normal variance or from broken discipline.
Over time, the data shows whether the limit is too tight, too loose, or just right.
Where is your daily loss limit set, and does it hold?
