Multi-monitor setups and the wrong-window click

More screens mean more information. They also increase the chance of acting on the wrong thing.

A common error is sending an order in the window that happens to have focus, which may not be the pair that's being watched. Another is reading a price from one screen while looking at a different chart's spread.

Practical ways to reduce errors include keeping the order entry window attached to a specific chart, labelling each chart clearly with large symbol names, and using different background colours for different pairs.

Distance matters too. Constantly turning the head between screens slows reaction time and invites missed ticks. Keeping the most time-critical information within a narrow angle helps.

Some traders cut back to a single large screen and find that decisions improve, because attention is no longer split.

More displays aren't automatically better. Each additional one should have a defined purpose.

How many screens do you use, and what sits on each?
