When correlation breaks down, scalpers can read the break

Pairs that normally move together sometimes split. EURUSD rises while GBPUSD falls, or the yen strengthens against some currencies but not others. These breaks carry information.
Often the cause is a currency-specific event. A UK data release moves GBP while the euro and dollar stay put. Seeing the divergence helps identify which currency is driving the move, and that clarifies where to trade.
If the dollar is the driver, all dollar pairs move together. If sterling is the driver, GBPUSD and EURGBP will move opposite each other, while EURUSD stays flat. Knowing which case applies points to the pair with the cleanest move.
It can also expose false signals. A breakout on one pair not confirmed by related pairs is less reliable than one where several pairs agree.
Building a simple dashboard that shows relative strength across the major currencies makes this easy to see at a glance.
Do you use currency strength meters, or read the relationships manually?
