What a requote actually means on a market execution account

On instant execution accounts, a requote is the broker saying the price you clicked is gone and offering a new one. Market execution accounts mostly don't requote at all. Orders just fill at whatever is available, which feels better until the fill lands three tenths of a pip away from the click.

That's the trade-off hiding in the account type. Instant execution gives price certainty with the risk of rejection, while market execution gives fill certainty with the risk of price drift. Neither is free.

For scalping, the second option usually wins, because a missed entry on a fast move costs more than a small slip. But that only holds if the slippage stays modest and symmetrical.

One thing that confuses people: the deviation setting in MT4 and MT5 only matters on instant execution. On market execution it gets ignored, so tightening it to feel safe does nothing.

Which execution type does your current broker offer, and did the choice ever change the results for you?
