Why does the phone app sometimes sit on "processing" while the desktop already filled?

It is worth wondering what the phone is actually doing between the tap and the confirmation. A few possibilities come to mind, and probably more than one applies.

Maybe it is the radio. A phone switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data, or waking a sleeping connection, may need a moment to re-establish a session before the order can even leave. That first tap after a pause could be paying a reconnection cost that a desktop with a steady wired link never pays.

Maybe it is the app architecture. Many mobile apps do not talk to the trading server directly. They go through an intermediate service that handles authentication and formatting, which adds a hop that the desktop terminal does not have. Whether that is true depends entirely on the broker.

Maybe it is power management. Battery saver modes can throttle background activity, so an app that has been idle may respond slowly right after being opened.

And maybe the order did fill instantly, but the screen was the slow part. The server accepted the order, the app is waiting to refresh its position list, and the trader assumes nothing happened. That version is the most dangerous, because it invites a second tap.

A cautious habit is to confirm on the positions or history screen before repeating any action, and to keep a stable connection for anything time-sensitive. The phone is probably best treated as a management tool rather than an entry tool for tight scalps.

What have you noticed about mobile order confirmations, and is there a pattern for when they hang?
