Minimum stop distance on yen crosses: how to build your own table

Stop levels on yen crosses differ more between accounts than on majors. Building a small table for your own accounts takes an afternoon.

What to record for EURJPY, GBPJPY, AUDJPY and CHFJPY:
  • Stops level and Freeze level from the specification, in points.
  • The same values at two times: a quiet morning, for example 09:30 London, and just before US data at 13:25.
  • Whether a live micro test agrees with the specification.
Remember the quote: yen crosses usually have 3 digits, so 30 points is 3 pips.

What to do with the table: compare the minimum stop with your typical stop on each pair. A worked example: if your GBPJPY scalps use an 8 pip stop and the stop level is 3 pips, you're fine for entries, but a trailing stop that moves within 3 pips of price will be rejected near the end of moves.

CHFJPY and AUDJPY often have wider levels and spreads, which can make them unsuitable for very tight scalps even when the chart looks clean.

If you post your table here, include account type and date, since values change.
