Reconciling commissions and swaps line by line

Most traders look at the net result of each trade and ignore the breakdown. Yet commission, swap, and fees each have their own accuracy, and errors in any of them accumulate.

For scalpers, commission is the main item. A line-by-line check can verify that each trade was charged according to the schedule. A misapplied tier, a missing rebate, or a charge on a cancelled order is the kind of error that appears when people actually look.

Swap should be near zero for intraday positions, but if the account shows swap charges, some trades were held through rollover. That can reveal forgotten positions or EA behavior that was not planned.

Create a simple spreadsheet or script that computes the expected commission from lots and the rate, then compares it with the actual. Flag differences beyond a tiny tolerance.

Do it for a sample at first. If errors appear, extend to the full history.

Brokers typically correct genuine mistakes when presented with clear evidence.

Has a commission or swap error ever been found in the statement, and how was it resolved?
